Tragedy for Motorcycle Rider and Driver

On Monday May 10th, an "old" client of mine, Daniel Clark, was killed in a motorcycle accident.  Daniel was only twenty five years of age.  I say "old" because I first met Daniel when he was eight or nine, and he was going through a tough time in life.  I was his Court assigned attorney, back before I began practice as a personal injury attorney.

Something about Daniel struck a chord with me, and I took a liking to him and wanted to help him beyond what was expected of me as his lawyer.  I had him over to my house to play basketball and to meet my family.  I even went to one of his school events to let him know I cared about him and expected him to succeed in school. We kept in touch a bit over the years, as Daniel would call me from time to time with legal questions.

Daniel died leaving a three year old son, who will have very few memories of his father as he grows older.  Equally sad and unfortunate, the seventeen year old car driver (Olivia Luxon of Lima) who caused the accident will have vivid memories of the crash for the rest of her life.  I hope she is able to forgive herself because if Daniel could, he would let her know that he has forgiven her already.
